About OasisTree

Built by a family, for families.

OasisTree is a South African team building a private, family-owned home for the people, stories and memories that make up your family, designed for African and diaspora families first and built to work for any family.

Our private beta opened on 24 September 2026. We’re inviting more families in stages; the public release date has not been set.

Every platform makes you an individual with an audience. OasisTree makes you a member of a family.
I couldn’t say goodbye to my father. I’m building the place where no one’s grandchild has to say that again.
Inala Edison Degi, CEO & co-founder of OasisTree

Where we’re heading

Direction, not a promise of what is built today.

These ideas are not part of the private beta. They are published here so families can see the direction without mistaking roadmap work for a current feature.

Planned

End-to-end encrypted family chat

We plan to make family chat end-to-end encrypted, so that only the family can read it. It isn’t yet, and we’ll say so here when it is.

Years away

Your own family server

Most families will use our cloud, and that stays the primary home. In the years ahead we plan to offer families who want it the tools to run OasisTree on their own server, with an encrypted backup behind it. None of this is part of the private beta.
